I work to create narratives that have the power to challenge and impact the world.

I’m a storyteller, and that’s my passion! I hold true to the saying “Art imitates life,” drawing inspiration from my personal experiences, deep reflections, conversations, and observations of everyday individuals to create rich, diverse, and complex characters. My writing transports you to a world where neighborhoods and cityscapes come alive as characters themselves. My voice is genuine, bold, and vibrant, resonating like a storm’s roar or the calm before it. As Victoria Monet aptly put it, “She get it from her Mama….” My late mother, Shirley Bradley Price LeFlore, who was the Poet Laureate Emeritus of St. Louis, had a talent for capturing everyday moments and transforming them into poetry that transcended time and space. She also ensured I understood my heritage.

My writing is my superpower, a realization that grew stronger as I aged and began journaling religiously when I moved to New York City in the early 1990s. My journey took me from Nickelodeon to Uptown Records, and eventually to producing my first TV series and overseeing music for the groundbreaking show NY Undercover, which significantly impacted my career and led me to Hollywood. The rest is history—just look at my resume.

Now, as I begin a new chapter, I feel that my life and storytelling have come full circle. I aim to remain endlessly curious and eager to explore new stories, whether through books, film, video, or any emerging medium. Find out more about me and how we can work together to creatively challenge the world.
